Management, Arts and Chaos: an appeal for Management-Art
Management Consultant and Executive Coach, Piet Breed, of The Netherlands, strongly believes in the importance of individual development and well-being as the foundation for a healthy organization or enterprise in the 21st Century. In his provocative article, “Management, Arts and Chaos: an appeal for Management-Art”, Mr. Breed suggests that it is not only the global economy which is in need of renewal, but also the inner artist of managers and leaders, which requires conscious and deliberate attention. According to Mr., Breed, “My plea is for a form of art education for managers, certainly for younger managers who must lead their organizations into the future. They must learn to apply the artist in themselves to the translation of today’s impossibilities into tomorrow’s challenges. They will not be able to meet these challenges by linearly extrapolating numbers from the past, but only be means of creative depiction of a better future for all concerned: the world.”
